Bach Flower Therapy
What are Bach Flower Remedies?
Bach Flower Remedies are a system of 38 plant and flower based remedies which were discovered in the 1930s by Dr Edward Bach, a Harley street physician, bacteriologist and homeopath. Since then, the Bach Flower Remedies have become licensed homeopathic remedies. The most well-known remedy is not a single remedy, but actually a combination of five different remedies: Rescue Remedy, an extremely useful mixture for all kinds of emergency situations in which people feel completely overwhelmed, i.e. for acute fears, panic attacks etc.
With Bach Flower Remedies, diagnosis is on the level of spirit and mind, with each of the remedies aiming at a specific emotion. Not treating physical symptoms as such, they don't work by dampening down symptoms, but instead by enhancing our existing positive qualities. The negative state is not suppressed, but removed by an increase in the corresponding positive quality.
The Bach Flower Remedies are safe and easy to use and therefore can be safely given to children and animals. The remedies contain a small amount of brandy for preservation purposes, but this is highly diluted when a mixture bottle is prepared.
Disclaimer: Bach Flower Remedies are a complementary therapy and not intented to either diagnose an illness or replace treatment prescribed by your doctor.
